Being an important factor of crop growth and development, the level of irrigation is determined by the type of crop, nature of the season and the financial muscle of the farmer to buy the equipment.

As drip irrigation being used to irrigate crops using plastic drip tape, drip tape is either put on surface or underground to provide steady amount of water and also to reduce on water evaporation and improve on crop vigour as well.

System development

Given that the drip irrigation system requires 10-20 pounds/ sq inch of water pressure, use filter in a drip system to prevent blockage as this also filters the impurities in water. Clean system often however, the number of drip lines determine the size of main water line.

Similarly, drip tape can be on surface, underground or covered depending on environment, weeds available and what the crop is and this is buried about 5 inches down. Have a drip on surface but covered to have water near to transplanted crops.

Finally, drip system allows to do a fairly large area with minimum water amounts.
