Being a good investment to venture in, the quality and quantity of cattle products is determined by the type and level of technology during production.

As difficulties come due to using cattle production, handling calfs roughly, over crowding calfs and lack of planning preparations, there is need to maintain temperatures at minimised levels as abrupt change in temperature cause calves to stop.

Calves Management

To handle calves, understand their natural behaviours in order to handle efficiently to avoid frustrations and always look at a situation from their perspective as they require hands on individual care to figure out surroundings.

Similarly, handling difficulties come from calves‘ temperament, facilities, handle and calves; stop moving when there is change in footing hence keep an eye on floor texture for calves‘ stability. Abrupt changes in temperatures cause calves‘ to stop.

Calf distractions such as dust impairs ability of calfs to see and new strong smells cause it to go back as well as objects of people scares them away from task. Others include yelling, light intensity changes which slow down movement of calves‘.

Furthermore ,only move calves in small groups on their natural walking pace, don‘t rush them and avoid using cattle prod. Avoid distractions when moving calves‘ from one place to another and finally offer grain or fresh feed to them once they reach destination.
