»rops growing in the field seem very calm, but they have to fight a lot with many factors. but who could disturb our crops in the field? to know more about these harmful factors and also to know about the practices carried out once the crops are harvested«

The quantity and quality of crop yields produced in the field is obtained through full filling the agronomic practices.

Given that harsh weather, insects, pests and diseases are potential threats to the crops, weeds are harmful plants that grow alongside the crops and these take up nutrients from the soil and compete for light and water with the crops.

Crop management

First, for better crop yields, weeds are removed in the initial stages of soil preparation and even at a later stage they are removed either manually or using weedicides. Weeds are uprooted before flowering and seeding.

Similarly, as harvesting involve cutting crops after reaching maturity, it is done manually or by harvester and during threshing, grains are separated from stalk. During winnowing chaff is separated from grains.

Finally, after the processes, grains are ready for storage.
