Herbicide usage.
First, wear personal protective equipments like overall, nose mask, rain boots and gloves and spray only when wind is not strong and when there is no rain going to fall soon. Ensure nozzles and sprayers are well maintained and people without PPEs should stay away during spraying.
Equally, herbicides should be applied by trained personel and children should not play with herbicides. One should not eat, drink or smoke during handling and spraying of herbicides and return empty bottles to collection point for hazardous waste. In case of of no collection point, rinse empty herbicide bottle 3 times, puncture the bottle at their bottom with a nail and bury deep in soils ad don’t use empty herbicide container for drinking water. Dont wash sprayer nearby stream after spraying, wash and change clothes after spraying before eating and driking.
Furthermore, incase eye contamination, rinse with water for 10 minutes and in caseof diziness after spraying, dont take milk or palm oil. Finally, go to hospital for proper treatment.
