»LOW COST FEEDING FOR FREE RANGE CHICKEN FARMING | ALTERNATIVE CHEAP FEEDS FOR LOCAL CHICKENS«

In chicken farming business feed is a major input and this usually takes a great percentage of the budget.

When rearing chicken on free range, you can cut down the money spent on feed by feeding the chicken on supplements. The supplements can be prepared by chopping sweet potato peelings into small pieces so that the birds can eat them easily. While chopping, remove onions and other kinds of plastics because they are poisonous to the chicken.

Serving supplementary feed

To serve the supplementary feed, put the chopped pieces of feed into the feeders. Distribute the chopped feeds evenly into the feeders.

On top of the chopped/ supplementary feed, pour some bit of commercial feed. This makes the feed more palatable to the birds hence the birds eat the feed with ease.

After preparing the supplementary feed, serve it to the chicken.
