»Here we see our boer doe (Rafiki) being introduced go the buck after we saw signs of her being in heat. In the video we show the signs that are visible to us and the entire mating process! Kindly note that we had put Rafiki in wth the buck around June – July trying to induce heat and mating but despite her body having grown massively during the period that followed we suspected that she was not pregant but werent sure due to how she was growing bigger and fat fast. But we kept on observing her closely and today it became cles tl is that she was not bred anf therefore we bred her today after seding her showing the signs of heat.«

Being a good investment to venture in, the quality and quantity of goats products is determined by the type and level of technology during production.

A doe stay on standing heat for 24 hours ready to be mounted by the buck for conception and this is identified by heat signs. A doe starts wagging its tail and vulva becomes swollen and mucus is secreted from it.

Heat signs

As a doe mounts other goats a buck becomes aggressive due to the smell produced by the doe and it starts bellowing. Finally, the gestation period of a goat is 150 days or 5 months.
