Passion fruits and tamarillos crops can be grown using good proper simple technology given their high nutrient value and demand on the market. As passion friuits are planted during the topical season due to high moisture content during the growing season, they need good drainage and are also great feeders which need to plant at 2 metres a part making them to grow to1 metre on either sides of the plant for nutrient absorption.

Just like other crops, the farmer must make sure that the soil is high in organic matter with a pH 5.5-6.0 and they should grown away from strong wind and frost. Similarly, pruneback the passion fruits every year to  produce new shoots and also appy fertilizer and rock dust on plants after planting and water to prevent from the diseases. Because passion fruits flower and fruits in the first year and last for 5 years, pull them out and plant new crops after 5 years and protect from strong winds and frost.
Furthermore for tamarillos, they like to be planted in 3 plants in same area and also should be tied on each other to provide support and at 1 metre height of growth, chop of terminal buds to produce branches and form canopy. Apply compost on top after planting.
As tamarillos are in tomato family and dont need staking, add high nitrogen fertilizer and rock dust, sprinkle good polymix around plant and finally water the pklants after application.
