Water consumption factors
Broilers pant so much and take in more water during hot seasons and their rate of water consumption increases. Additionally, birds consume more acidic water this can be done by adding vinegar in water. Also broiler birds prefer and consume more cool water than hot water thus reducing heat stress. Lastly provision of enough light in poultry houses either natural or physical increases water consumption.
Water management
First, evenly distribute chicken drinkers while alternating them with feeders to allow all birds have access to both water and feeds. Additionally, wash and dis infect drinkers daily and thereafter fill them with clean fresh water. Always protect water tanks against direct sunlight to protect drinking water from becoming warm.
