Groundnut oil cake manure
Oil cakes serve as concentrated organic manure, providing essential nutrients to the soil over an extended period while causing minimal depletion. These cakes are particularly rich in nitrogen, making them an effective source of macro nutrients. However, it’s important to apply them in small quantities to avoid stressing the plants.
Preparing Fertilizers
To prepare the fertilizer, ensure the cake is thoroughly dried, and then take 1 kg of the oil cake, as accurate portions are essential to avoid harming the plants. Soak the cake in approximately 5-6 liters of water for an entire night or 24 hours. During this time, the cake will absorb water and increase in size by nearly three times. After soaking, add an additional 5 liters of water to the concentrated mixture and thoroughly mix it before diluting it into water cans.
For application, dilute 1 liter of the concentrate with 5 liters of water, ensuring a thorough mixture. Finally, apply the diluted solution to the plants. Although this fertilizer is entirely organic, it’s essential to use it in moderation and apply it in small quantities to prevent the plants from undergoing stress.
