Being one of the determing factors that affect the growing and production of crops, rainfall ca be supplemented with irrigation during dry periods for continous production. To plant vegetables during dry season, one should construct plating beds and place 2 drip irrigation lines on each wide raised bed and drip holes in irrigation lines must be turned upwards for equal distribution of water on the plants and place drip lines 18-20cm off edge of planting bed.

Drip irrigation

First, secure drip lines in place and make a stand for container to hold water of 20 litres and the bottom of the container should be 1m above the bed to provide water pressure and connect drip lines by drilling a hole at the bottom of container and attatch connector to the bucket and insert fit lines into fitting.
Similarly, ensure bucket is firm on its stand and connect feed lines to the drip lines using connector. Cut off 2.5cm piece of drip line and fold the remaining end 2 times and slide the cut off slieve over folded drip line to seal the drip line end and cover top of water container with cloth and add water to container and identify loatios to plant transplants.
Make planting holes and plant seedlings covering it to first leaf from bottom and water after transplanting using watering can to prevent shock of transplanting.
Finally, mulch the surface and provide water both morning and evening.
