Being implements and equipments that ease farm work, condition of their tires determine the time to complete work, quality of work and efficiency of the machine on a particular work.
When storing tires, always clean them before storage and if your frequently using more than one set of tires on a tractor, properly store the set your not using safely as good storage make your tires last longer.
Tire management
For proper tire management, there is need to ensure that the storage area is clean and because tires easily accumulate dirt and dust hence clean and thoroughly dry the tires before storage. Also clean wheels when if tires are still mounted and put them down to make them dry completely before storage to protect them from direct sun light through tarpaulins.
Similarly, maintain a storage temperature of 5-15 degrees centigrade or 40 – 60 degrees Fahrenheight and always keep tires a way from heat to avoid prominent damages to the tires. Avoid storing tires in any place that make them wet or too cold indoors and prevent grease, oils, white spirits or brake fluids from touching your tires and dont store liquids with tires in same facility.
Once tires come into contact with fluids, wash with warm water and detergent immediately and check inside tires for water or wet surface. Keep tires way from electric motors, central vacuums or pumps to avoid cracking.
Furthermore, dont stuck tires too high or keep them up right and finally for tires on rims, reduce inflation pressure and place lug against lug.
