To make an organic fertilizer at home, you will need inputs like tobacco, pepper, local onions, and garlic onions. These inputs can be obtained either locally in the gardens or can be bought from the market.
Making organic inputs
The above inputs in combination with ash can act both as an organic fertilizer as well as a pesticide.
The tobacco, pepper, onions, and garlic are crushed/ pounded either using a motor and pestle or in a basin with water. After crushing or pounding in a motor and pestle, add water to dilute.
Production and use of organic pesticides and fertilizers save farmers from using inorganic pesticides and fertilizers which have negative impacts not only on the environment but also on the farmer.
You can as well add urine both human and animal, but this needs to be kept for about 14 days in order to ferment.
The organic pesticide and fertilizer can be added to the crops especially bananas every 2 months to keep the plantation healthy and productive.
