Being highly nutritious rich in carbohydrated, potato production is highly determined by the level of technology used by the farmer. Because potatoes are plant whole or cut depending on size, remove all eyes and leave only 2 eyes on each potato and cure the cut by placing them on ground with cuts facing up for a week. Potatoes grow well in loose of soil of upto 12 inches depth.

Potato management

First, plant potatoes at 12*16 inches apart in a mixed soil 50%, 40% compost and 10% coconut powder and add fetilizer to soil of 1 cut of chicken manure per square foot. Add sulphur to lower soil pH that is to say, 1 ounce per square foot and potatoes grow well in pH 5.5.
Similarly, add iron phosphate and mix with soil and plant potato at 8 inches deep and make holes and place potatoes with eyes facing up and cover.
Finally, water the garden after planting.
