As crop production are much affected by the insect pestssuch as fall army worm, maize stalk borer, they are prevented by use of neem tea bag. Because insects reduce yield in crops and commercial pesticides are costly and harmful to the environment, one requires to pick ripe dried neem seeds from ground under the neem tree. They are placed in plastric bucket and covered with water for 24 hours to soften the fruit.

Neem production

First, crush fruit gently using a motor and pestle to remove outer cover and spread it on the tarpaulin until they dry. Put the dried neem fruits in mortor and pound gently to remove seed without breaking it inside.
Similarly, use a piece of cotton of 20*10cm, fold it into half and sow sides together to make tea bag and weigh 250g of powder,  put into tea bag and tighten the top and place in plastic bag. Store teabag in cool dry place and to prepare pesticide, remove tea bag from plasric bag and soak in 5 litres of water and after 24 hours, squeeze the tea bag to extract as much neem as possible for 10 minutes.
As each tea bag provide 5 litres of pesticide, pour liquid in pesticide sprayer and spray crops. Neem should not be used around ponds as it is harmful to fish and finally, only apply during late evening, night or early moring.
