To make bio-diverse compost, you will need a variety of materials and these include cow manure, hay, green waste, minerals, and seaweeds. These are mixed in a compost pile and the product has a variety of beneficial microorganisms that are important in restoring soil fertility.
Making compost
The compost bin can be made by just rolling a wire mesh into an enclosure either cylindrical or sided in nature.
In the bin, put materials in the ratio of 3:2:1 containing high carbon materials, green waste, and high nitrogen waste respectively.
Begin by putting a layer of high high-carbon materials like hay at the bottom and then sprinkling water onto them to a moisture content of about 45 to 55%.
Add the layer of green materials and then after, add materials high in Nitrogen.
It is important to note that the diversity of the materials determines the diversity of the fertilizer. You can as well add biofertilizers to the compost because the organisms in the biofertilizers will definitely be in the compost.
Add molasses mixed with water as this acts as a source of food for the microorganisms as well as act a source of nutrients.
Keep turning the layers to mix up the contents
