»Making a business from home raised chicks«

Being a highly demanded agricultural product, the quality and quantity of chicken is determined by the technology used in production.
Given that chicken is a source of protein and income to the farmers, specialists produce chicks with incubators for the farmers at a low cost and the chicks require specific conditions for them to survive in a brooding house.

Chicks management

First create environment for chicks in a chick brooder and then buy them from trusted producers for good breeds. Chicks should be raised in close proximity to home for caring and easy supervision in a small room which is easily heated and can prevent predators.
At 3 weeks, 1 sqm raises 20 chick hence if brooding area is big, close it with sheet to contain warmth in early days. Disinfect the room and cover the floor with 3-5 cm layer of sawdust and provide 33 degrees centigrade in the room for the first three days to make the room warm enough to receive the chicks.
Additionally, use thermometer to measure the temperatures in the room and install long wire for temperature regulation and check whether liter is warm or dry while ensuring that doors and windows are easily closed and opened.
Continue by providing clean water to the chicks and before feeding them, provide water mixed with molasses on the first day.
Finally after drinking the water, provide a highly nutritious feed of proteins to the chicks.
