Another variety is the Buffalo that matures in 90 days and also has a shelf life of 2 -2 1/2 months. Another potato variety is the Shangi which is a high yielder with a high demand from many farmers but does not have a long shelf life. This variety has ‘deep eyes’ on its skin which draws complaints from the French fry industry as it incurs them a lot of losses.
