Turmeric preparation
Always start by washing turmeric pieces well with clean water, thereafter slice the washed turmeric into thin pieces, and airdry the cut pieces under shade. Grind the dried turmeric pieces into a fine powder and store the powder in airtight containers to avoid contamination and spoilage. For deworming add 60 grams of turmeric powder in every liter of chicken drinking water every 2 weeks.

Turmeric is cheap, effective in killing worms, and repairs intestinal walls hence better nutrient absorption. Additionally, it also treats fluid accumulation in the chicken abdomen. Furthermore, turmeric is also used as an antioxidant and also increases egg production as well as increasing eggshell strength.
