To grow capsicum, start by preparing the land through ploughing. Before doing so, it is advisable to assess the market trade by visiting the market and evaluating the pricing and demand for capsicum

If the market conditions are unfavorable, unlike watermelon, capsicum is a crop that can be harvested for three to five months with proper care. Therefore, it is crucial to conduct soil analysis to check for pests, diseases, and nutritional content. This analysis helps identify any potential issues and allows for appropriate remedial measures.

Capsicum Varieties

Once the soil analysis is complete, select the best varieties of capsicum to cultivate. There are different options available, including hybrid varieties, F1 varieties, and, if permitted, genetically modified (GMO) varieties. Choose the variety that suits your requirements and preferences.

While ploughing, ensure that the soil is deeply turned to effectively invert it. This process allows the nutrients present in the lower layers of the soil to rise and become available for the upcoming crop. Create furrows with a distance of 1 meter between them, ensuring even spacing. These furrows can then be blocked to form basins that will hold water and facilitate irrigation.
