Often times crops are attacked by pests but these can be controlled using organic pesticides that are made using locally available materials.
Making organic pesticides is unique in such a way that it uses low cost locally available materials and this saves the farmers the cost of buying inorganic pesticides and fertilizers which are costly and also have negative effects on the environment.

Materials needed

The materials needed to make organic pesticides are a mortar and pestle, measuring cup, knife, mingling stick, sieve, 20-liter bucket, rabbit urine, and sweet potato vines.
Other materials needed include ginger, garlic, onions, ash, chili pepper, ash, charcoal dust, and a bottle for packing.

Production process

Collect rabbit urine that is less than 1 month old and pour it into a 20-liter bucket. If you have rabbits, you can collect the urine and if not, you can buy the urine from rabbit farmers. Rabbit urine is an important source of nitrogen which is an essential nutrient in plant growth and also acts as a pesticide.
Add 2 cups of ash to the urine. The ash helps regulate soil pH and also is a source of potassium.
Add 2 cups of charcoal dust which is a source of phosphorous and also helps regulate soil temperature and mix.
Add leaves from different crops after being chopped into the bucket and mix, Crush 10  pieces of onions and add them into the mixture after being crushed.
Crush 10 pieces of garlic and put them in the mixture. Also, crush half cup of chili into the mixture. Lastly, crush eggshells until you have half a cup and add to the mixture.
After, tightly cover the bucket and put it in a shade protecting it from the sun and rain. Thoroughly mix the mixture after every week.

Using the pesticide

After, sieve and pour filtrate into a bottle to pack including the sticker.
To use the pesticide, dilute one liter per 20 liters of water if the crops are mature enough and half a liter per 20 liters of water if you are to spray on seedlings.
