Pig breeds
Yorkshire pigs these hare white with upright ears, each sow has average size of 12 piglets and grow faster.
Berkshire pigs, these are black with erect ears, white on legs and tail and with white patches on bodies.
Tamworth pigs these are golden red in colour, faces are slightly dished, they forage, have large erect ears, are intelligent and care for litter.
Mulefoot pigs, these are cold and heat tolerant.
Hereford pigs, these are red and white, superior feed consumers and have at least 3 white legs.
Large black pigs, these are huge and black, excellent foragers, large loop ears, long face and long deep bodies.
Poland china pigs are black with 6 white spots on face, have floppy ears and stubby tail
Chester white pig these are white in colour, have dished faces, small floppy ears, thick coat and superior muscles.
Hampshire pigs these have erect ears, black with white belts and basically used for breeding.
Land race pigs are white in colour, their ears drop and slant forward and have the ability to raise litters.
Duroc pigs, these are red, have droopy ears with no white belts.
Lastly large white pigs, these have erected ears, slightly dished faces, long neck, long level back and mature pig weigh 300-450 kg with good feed conversion rates.
