Honey is a sweet and viscous substance made by several bees, the best-known of which are honey bees. Additionally, honey starts as flower nectar collected by bees. Furthermore, during honey harvesting always smoke first so as to distract the bees and prevent possible attack. Also when harvesting do not remove all the honey from hive so that bees do not starve.

Honey harvesting

First, fill smoker with non toxic smoke materials and smoke at the beehive entrance, thereafter, use a knife to open hive so as to reach honey. Furthermore, place extracted honey combs in clean containers to avoid contamination and ensure to smoke bees when extracting the honey combs from the hive. Lastly, gently place back the comb flames into the hive without damaging bees and cover the top after harvesting.

Honey extraction

After harvesting honey, smash the harvested honey combs in a clean container or bucket. Additionally, filter the smashed honey combs with a fine sieve to separate honey from the wax. Lastly pack the filtered honey into clean containers of desired sizes for marketing.
