Primary practices
Start by mixing 40%compost and 60%garden soil, thereafter make a hole 1 inch deep, plant 1 seed per hole, 6-8 inches apart. Additionally, water adequately to keep soil moist, and expose the plant to 4-5 hours of sun for photosynthesis. Furthermore, check the soil before watering, reduce watering when seeds establish, and water at the root base after leaf formation to avoid disease attack. Lastly, support vine cucumbers on a trellis to allow plants to grow vertically, so as to create more space to grow more plants.
Secondary practices
First, regularly water plants after fruit formation, apply fertilizers, and water after fertilizer application so as to easily facilitate the transportation of fertilizer nutrients to plant roots. Additionally, regularly harvest when cucumber fruits are ready to allow new flower bud formation. Also, harvest 40-45 days after planting this should be done early in the morning when temperatures are cool, by cutting fruits with sharp scissors or a knife to avoid damaging sensitive vines. Lastly, apply organic fertilizers after harvesting to allow new plant growth.
