When buying a tree from a nursery, there are factors that you need to have in mind before purchasing the tree seedlings. You need to consider the tree function ie reason as you why you are buying the tree, tree growth form and size and the site conditions.

The form and size of the tree should also be considered. This helps you ensure that the right tree is planted in the right place for example tall trees can be planted near homes to act as wind breaks.

Purchasing containerized trees
When purchasing a containerized tree, take a look at the roots. The roots should have many side small fibrous roots, roots of good size and good root colour. This should be checked out for when purchasing new trees.
