As livestock remains a big source of income and provide balanced diet through livestock products, foot rot affect the hooves and herbal medicines can be used to cure it. As diseases affect the livestock productivity on the farm, foot rot disease affect hooves of cattle, goats and sheep making the animal lame and it is caused by bacteria that enter soft tissue of the hooves through wounds and cuts in skin. Wet weather aids in disease spread.

Foot rot control

First, keep the animal shade clean all the time as foot rot is caused by bad germs and dont aqllow animals to stand in dung or urine for long time and always remove spoit food and dung often and keep animals in dry place. Be careful wehn buying new animals from rest of herd for a few days and observe them carefully.
Similarly, separate new bought animals from rest of herd for a few days and observe them carefully and remove hard objects from grazing and resting areas of animals. Use locally available ingredients to treat foot rot in animals and clean affected hoof with clean water. 
Not only the above but also mix tamaric powder with cloconut oil to form paste and apply on affected hoof and dry the tree barks and grind them into powder. Take 3 handfulls of neem leaves and put in saucepan and 3 handfulls of bark powder of jack fruit tree.
Add 1-2 spoon of table salt to prevent inflamation and boil the solution and after cooling paste, apply on affected hoof 3 times a day for 7 days.
Mix a spoon of cocnut oil with a spoon of neem oil and finally on infected part of hoof once a day for 7 days.
