Mealybugs are harmful pests to garden plants and these affect plants by sucking of plant juices from the plants. Mealy bugs are found mostly in areas with warm moist climates.
Mealybug control
To control mealybugs, take organic turmeric powder and homemade neem leaves liquid. Turmeric contains anti bacterial substances while neem liquid is also a natural pesticide and insecticide.
Mix one tea spoonful of turmeric powder and add it in 200ml of water, then add 50ml of neem liquid. Mix the contents with a tea spoon very well.
Put the mixture in a spray bottle with 60% of clean water, shake well to mix the contents before spraying onto the affected parts of the leaves with the solution.
Spray for three days consecutively and spray both on the upper and lower parts of the leaves.
The other method of controlling mealybugs is by using dish washing liquid or shampoo. In his, use 5ml of shampoo per 1 liter of water. Spray the shampoo on the affected parts of the plant to control the plant from mealybugs. This is used once a week and spraying is done either early morning or after sunset.
