Like other crops, the production of zucchinis is determined by the method of growing applied and the level of technology used on the farm. A a warm weather summer crop, zucchinis plants are grown by direst seeding or starters in soils of 18 degrees centigrade. For direct seeding, place 3 seds directly in soil at an inch depth as more seedds give a farmer 100% germinaton and thining is done after.

Crop management

Plant zucchnis 2.5cm deep in moist seeding mix 2 months before transplant and plants emerge in a week and true leaves appear a week after germination. Plant zucchinis in a full sun location with moist well drained soils at 2 feet apart and mulch the plant and water as well thoroughly.
However, plants are affected by thrips, aphids,, beetles, cut worm spider mites, leaf minor and white flies. Dense cover crops eliminate pests to lay eggs.
Simarly, zucchinis has imperfect flowers and always male flowers pop out first on elongated stems and a frmer should always carry out hand pollination to prevent rotting issues. Diseases such as powdery mildew affect zucchinis which is stressed.
Furthermore, prune off leaves that grow below fruits to increase airflow and allow plants to directmore energy to each fruit. Water zucchinis in morning and always the soil direcly however, too much nitrogen attract pests on plant and only encourage foliar growth than fruit growth.
Feed zucchinis plant on NPK twice in entire lifetime which include after planting and when 2-3 blooms come up.  Flowers must be seen from above to increase active pollination and finally harvest zucchinis when it is 6-18 inches long.
