Varieties

Varieties like peppermint have delightful sautéed leaves with delicate white and purple colored flowers which provide a spicy fragrance when crushed between the fingers.
This variety grows well in containers and can be harvested twice in a growing season. Other varieties that can be grown in pots include Spearmint, Pineapple mint, apple mint, Red mint, Chocolate mint, Lavender mint among others.

Propagation

Pudina mint can be propagated in pots from both seeds and cuttings. Propagating from seed is a time taking process and ideal method for growing pudina in pots is through cutting.
Even though mint can be grown from seeds, cuttings are a faster and more reliable option. Potting soil for growing Mint in pots requires deep rich fertile soils that are high in organic matter. The PH levels of the soil should range from 6.0 to 7.5. Lots of water is also a requirement for mint to thrive.

Even though mint adapts to all types of soil, it produces the best in soils enriched with organic compost or well rotted manure
Suitable containers for growing pudina in pots should be of large size . The mint plant grows vigorously and most of them grow by their own so use of shallow containers may spread the mint roots out at the bottom weakening the plant.
