Microbial solutions can be used as organic fertilizers. To make the microbial solutions, the first ingredient that you need is a potato. It doesn’t matter if the potatoes have already started sprouting or they are still fresh. The potatoes are used as a food source for the microorganisms to multiply. You need 2 small or 1 large potato per 20-liter bucket.
Making microbial solution
Boil the potatoes for about 20 minutes and let them cool for 20 minutes. Mash the potatoes in a blender and add 1 teaspoon of sea salt per 20 liters of water. The salt should be non-iodized. Blend the potatoes with sea salt until they are smooth. If you have no blender, you can skip the whole blender step.
After blending, put 2 handfuls of organic-rich fertile forest soil in a filtering cloth and insert the filtering cloth over a bucket containing 20 liters of rainwater.
Pour the potato solution into the filtering cloth. Agitate to mix the contents of the filtering cloth with the water in the bucket and after, leave the cloth with its contents suspended in the water for 12 hours to enable all the nutrients to move into the water.in the bucket.
Cover the bucket with a lid. Micro-organisms will begin multiplying and their rate of multiplication depends on the environmental temperature. The hotter it is, the higher the rate of multiplication.
Keep checking the solution and when there are no more bubbles being formed in the solution, you can use the solution.
To use the solution, dilute it in a ratio of 1:20 and spray it in the crops and soil once every week or once every other week.
