When intercroped, with tea plants, after 1-2 years when plant can peg new tips shooting can be dried for 24 hours in shade. Green tea is dried and used right a way. Similarly, tea plants like slightly acidi soils, hardy plants planted under shade and they require good drainage of the soils hence a need to add organic matter.
Plant tea crop a metre apart from each other to grow 2 metres tall and on planting, prune off the ground branches for peoper upper gwowth. Spray with pesticides to control mould on leaves aftet planting.
Furthermore, water plants after planting and apply nitrogen fertilizers for new leaf growth during winter and apply organic rock during spring, sulphur and soil additives.
