Fish feed cost 50-60% of total production cost, proper fish feed formulation ensure high yields, during fish feed formulation select quality ingredients as well as checking their moisture levels.

Through better understanding of better fish feeding gives you the ability to better fish growth potential. There are different types of fish such as tilapia this is widely reared, good protein source and cheap. It grows best at water temperature of 28-29 degrees celsius hence categorised as warm water fish and feeds on both plants and animals.

Feed components

Starch this provides energy to fish and is obtained from corn, wheat, rice and potatoes.

Proteins, these are obtained from, soy bean meal, corn gluten, peas, fish meal, blood meal, sea foods.

Fats are obtained from fish oil, soy bean oil, sunflower. Other ingredients are fibre, vitamins, minerals and amino acids.
